The Influence of Organizational Agility on Organizational Performance
Abstract
The purpose of this research is to highlight the influence of organizational agility on organizational performance while emphasizing the mediating role of organizational resilience and the moderating role of environmental turbulence. The empirical investigation was conducted on a sample of 253 firms from different sectors in Tunisia. The results were generated by SPSS and AMOS 23 software and treated using an exploratory factor analysis and modeling by structural equation. The results show a significant and positive impact of organizational agility on organizational performance. They also confirm that organizational agility has a positive impact on organizational resilience. Indeed, agility contributes to resilience and is a formative element and a prerequisite to be able to achieve it. In addition, agility leads to a faster response to environmental turbulence and is considered a risk mitigation factor promoting the achievement of resilience. The results show a significant and positive impact of organizational agility on organizational performance. The originality of our work lies in studying the impact of dynamic change and turbulence in today’s ever-evolving business environment and how these forces compel companies to rethink and develop appropriate organizational responses to maintain high performance. Therefore, organizational agility and organizational resilience become a necessity for the organization to survive and overcome these challenges in all circumstances. Despite their importance, research on the agility and resilience of SMEs remains relatively scarce. This gap prompted us to conduct such research to precisely understand and explain this relationship.
