Abstract
This presentation explores how design thinking can drive innovation in the arts by fostering human-centered, iterative, and interdisciplinary approaches to creative problem-solving. Drawing from real-world examples and participatory methods, the session demonstrates how artists and arts organizations are reimagining traditional practices to respond to complex social, cultural, and economic challenges. Attendees will learn how the principles of empathy, ideation, prototyping, and testing can be adapted to artistic contexts to enhance collaboration, increase relevance, and generate new forms of audience engagement. The presentation concludes with practical insights for applying design thinking to arts education, production, and community-based initiatives.
