Abstract
Although we are in an epoch exiting from a recent ice age, the increase in global temperatures has been accelerating in recent years. The accepted reason is the rise in atmospheric CO2 since the late 19th century. Heretics agree, but raise the following doubts: There have been numerous historical examples of changes in global temperature, long before the Industrial Revolution. Reducing fossil fuel use and the burning of forests is admirable, but despite over 25 international conferences, it is unlikely to stop. Moreover, even if successful, this will only partly reduce global temperatures. We explore other solutions in the realm of Global Engineering that have not been sufficiently researched as to their overall climate effects. We conclude that not all research resources should be spent on CO2 reduction.
