Abstract
In today’s dynamic organizational landscape, the importance of gender diversity in leadership has gained considerable attention from both scholar and practitioners. This research investigates the branding of women’s instinctive leadership styles and the surrounding issues of gender diversity. Women exhibit distinct leadership traits such as collaboration, empathy, and adaptability, which are increasingly recognized for their effectiveness in contemporary management context. Despite these attributes, women remain underrepresented in leadership positions, with only 29% of senior management roles occupied by women globally. This gap not only signifies lost opportunities for organizations but also highlights systematic barriers that women face in their career progression. This study addresses the following research problems: Why are women underrepresented in leadership despite their effective leadership style? How do existing branding practices perpetuate gender stereotypes? What is the relationship between gender diversity in leadership and organizational success? To explore these questions, a mixed-methods approach is employed, incorporating a quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with female leaders, human resources professionals and other key stakeholders within organizations. Through quantitative analysis, the study seeks to measure perceptions regarding the impact of gender diversity on organizational performance and assess the effectiveness of branding in promoting female leadership. Qualitative interviews provide deeper insights into the lived experiences of female leaders and reveal the challenges they encounter, such as bias, work-life balance, and lack of mentorship. Additionally, the study examines how branding can be aligned with diversity initiatives to foster an inclusive organizational culture that embraces women in leadership roles.
