Abstract
Understanding homographs through context clues significantly enhances the development of reading comprehension and metacognitive awareness. Therefore, this study aims to teach homographs using contextual clues to four elementary-level deaf students with cochlear implants. A single-case experimental design was employed, specifically a multiple-probe design across subjects, to achieve the study’s objectives. The experimental phase lasted seven weeks, starting with the baseline phase and continuing through to the follow-up phase. The results indicate an improvement in the recognition and understanding of homographs both in isolation and within context.
