Abstract

This presentation discusses honor-based violence in refugee populations. It provides a framework which includes making a case on passing critical legislation that tackles a hidden form of violence plaguing refugee and immigrant communities. The key elements of this presentation will be are broken down into the following: Shaping capacity building and implementation in local communities; explaining honor-based violence; legislative recommendations.
