Teacher Development through Collaborative Lesson Study via Professional Learning Communities to Enhance the Quality of Learning Management

Abstract

This research focuses on developing teachers using lesson study within a Professional Learning Community (PLC) to enhance the quality of learning management at Surat Thani International School. The research process involved analyzing the current situation and needs of teachers, developing a workshop process, and improving learning management guidelines through the implementation of lesson study. This encompassed planning, experimental teaching, observation, and reflection on learning outcomes. The research findings indicate that utilizing lesson study within a professional learning community significantly promotes more effective teaching and learning. This includes fostering analytical thinking, student-centered learning, and the integration of information technology in instruction. Furthermore, it contributes to creating a conducive learning environment that supports student success. This research also proposes key guidelines for long-term teacher development to elevate the quality of education in the context of international schools.
