Abstract
OKL Street Library has a social media Instagram with the name @oklstreetlibrary as a medium for spreading literacy culture. This study aims to determine whether Instagram serves as a medium for promoting literacy culture. The type of research used is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques using interviews and observation. The types of data used are primary data and secondary data. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The results of the study show that OKL Street Library uses Instagram social media in spreading the literacy culture that has been carried out on children in Malacca Regency. Various posts in the @oklstreetlibrary Instagram account describe literacy activities such as reading and writing. Instagram is used as a medium to spread literacy culture because it has a wide reach and can upload photos or videos that can attract the attention of other Instagram users.
