By sorting out the historical evolution of the relationship between national fitness and Olympic glory, it is believed that the relationship between national fitness and Olympic glory has undergone six periods: construction period, chaos period, imbalance period, transformation period, fluctuation period, and innovation period, which collectively demonstrate a gradual progression toward balanced development between national fitness and Olympic glory. In current critical period of China’s sports system transformation, while following gradual changes to maintain institutional stability, we should seize the opportunity to accelerate institutional reform, establish a stable and balanced development model with equal strategic positioning, overlapping value orientations, and embedded internal structures so that national fitness and Olympic glory can move towards a vector direction of balanced development.
