Abstract
The present work is an exposition of the scientific dissemination project Ludopédio, which was initiated in 2009 with the objective of amassing and distributing academic material on football from universities and specialised journals. In order to achieve this objective, a digital library was created with the purpose of facilitating access to research. In addition, the Arquibancada section was dedicated to articles written for a broader community. During the present author’s career, the network of collaborators has been expanded, a publishing house specialising in football has been founded, and the #ForAnotherFootball initiative has been initiated. The latter has been responsible for the promotion of subjects including, but not limited to, women’s football, Indigenous football, LGBTQIA+ football, anti-racist football and grassroots football. The development of country-based editorial filters has facilitated enhanced accessibility to content specialising in specific regions. In 2021, the institute transitioned to a non-profit entity, a development that facilitated participation in public funding calls and enabled the expansion of activities. The dissemination of scientific knowledge on football produced within different fields of the Humanities constitutes the mission of this institution. The organisation functions as a repository for national and international academic publications, and it has a wide network of researchers and collaborators. It also produces new content focused on political and insurgent issues, and it promotes awareness and the fight against racism, sexism, LGBTphobia, social exclusion, and other forms of intolerance.
