Abstract
This paper presents finding from a mix method study on the process of becoming a global citizen. Over the course of two years, quantitative data was collected using the Global Citizen Scale. Qualitative data included journal reflections pre-departure, during the study abroad period, and post-program. The paper explores initial findings and themes that are emerging and demonstrate the significant personal and professional growth of students. The important of global experiences for sustaining institutions, promoting democracy, and creating a sense of agency is explored.
