Abstract
This paper explores the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and cross-cultural communication, with a particular focus on the ethical and cultural implications of emerging technologies in global dialogue. AI-powered tools such as machine translation systems, chatbots, recommendation algorithms, and generative platforms are increasingly shaping how individuals, institutions, and organizations interact across diverse linguistic and cultural boundaries. These technologies hold the promise of enhanced accessibility, reduced language barriers, and new opportunities for intercultural collaboration. However, they also raise complex challenges, including algorithmic bias, cultural homogenization, privacy concerns, and the erosion of contextual nuance that is central to meaningful human communication. Drawing on interdisciplinary research from communication studies, computational linguistics, and ethics, as well as recent global case studies, this study critically examines both the opportunities and limitations of AI in facilitating intercultural exchange. The analysis highlights practical strategies for fostering inclusive and culturally sensitive uses of AI in domains such as education, diplomacy, media, and international collaboration. The paper concludes with forward-looking recommendations for ethical AI development that foreground equity, cultural diversity, and responsible innovation, ensuring that technology enhances rather than diminishes the richness of global dialogue.
