From Hype to Human Impact - Equations, Waves, and a Hands-On AI Toolkit: M|S = T+C·F - Map the Waves - Verify Outcomes - Act Where It Matters

Abstract

What if you had a toolkit to cut through the hype of AI and see whether it truly delivers human-centered transformation - personalizing learning, expanding inclusivity, and fostering participatory culture? This session equips attendees with three original, hands-on frameworks they can immediately apply. The first, the Meta-Systemics Equation (M S = T + C·F), is a diagnostic checklist to judge whether an AI system drives transformation, builds connection, and sustains flow—or risks bias, inequity, or stagnation. The second, the Wave Model of Knowledge, maps how AI is reshaping a field’s breadth, influence, and interdisciplinarity; participants can plot their own discipline to surface positioning, inclusivity, and readiness. The third, the Hype Filter (PESTLE 2.0), turns a familiar strategy scan into a promises-versus-outcomes matrix across political, economic, socio-cultural, technological, legal, and environmental (ecological sustainability) domains, assessed over short-, mid-, and long-term horizons - linking claims to evidence and local context. Optionally, participants can use the Universal Gap Grid to sort gaps into five categories - Communication, Knowledge, Policy, Learner, and Delivery - so teams know where to act first. This isn’t theory - it’s hands-on. Participants will leave with a 3-step checklist to separate hype from impact, a visual charting method to map AI’s effects in their field, and a ready-to-use template to compare promises with outcomes - supporting clearer accountability and better, values-based decisions. The result: practical methods to expand inclusivity, personalize learning, and foster sustainable, participatory futures.
