Leadership and Motivation: Determining Factors of Organizational Climate in Public Higher Education Schools in Mexico

Abstract

This is an integrative review of scientific literature, with a guiding question for the integrative review based on the PICOT strategy: Do leadership and motivation theories support the study of organizational climate today? The search for articles was carried out using SCOPUS, WEB OF SCIENCE, and ELSEVIER databases, using the keywords theory and organizational climate. The search period spanned from 2014 to January 2025. This organization made it possible to identify convergences in the studies and analyze the topics addressed. The objective of this information was to verify and prove that the ideas pointed out by authors such as Richard Bebkhard (1969) and Rensis Likert (1968) on Organizational Climate are still valid. The selected sample was 10 articles distributed in the following databases: SCOPUS n= 4; WOSC n= 4; ELSEVIER n= 2; This gives us as a result a considerable increase of confirmatory empirical evidence of the topic to be reviewed, in addition to recognizing the contribution of the Organizational Climate and its determining factors that are Leadership and Motivation within the development of other disciplines that will allow us to confirm the trends observed by the authors. The results of the bibliometric analysis indicate that organizational climate remains a topic of research interest, while also providing a summary of public higher education in Mexico for new researchers.
