From Emotion to Regeneration - the Neuroscience of Self-Healing in the Age of AI: Where Artificial Intelligence Meets Emotional Wisdom in Chronic Illness Healing

Abstract

As artificial intelligence transforms diagnostics and treatment planning in modern healthcare, a critical dimension is at risk of being overlooked: the innate emotional intelligence of the human body. This paper delves into the intersection of physiology, psychology, and neuroscience to explore how emotional states—such as belief, perception, and unresolved trauma—can influence the progression or reversal of chronic health conditions. Grounded in over two decades of experience within the Australian health system and my work as a transformational health coach, I present integrative insights and client-based case examples that demonstrate how addressing emotional wellbeing can lead to measurable improvements in conditions such as cardiovascular disease, chronic respiratory disorders, diabetes, and other long-term illnesses identified by the WHO. This study explores: The neurophysiological pathways through which emotions regulate inflammation, immunity, and cellular health; How perception and language influence hormonal output and metabolic function ; Why emotional suppression and chronic stress are root contributors to disease persistence ; How AI can complement—but not replace—the patient’s emotional and spiritual participation in healing. In an era of rapid technological advancement, this study argues for a paradigm shift: where artificial intelligence enhances treatment, but emotional intelligence enables transformation. The future of medicine must honour both data and the deeply human narrative behind each condition.
