Sattva, Raja, Tama - a Vedic Subtle-Component Ontology of Intelligent Design Beyond Quantum Explanation: Hierarchical Causality, Human Agency, and the Restoration of Cosmic Harmony through Spiritual Practice

Abstract

Modern cosmology and quantum mechanics masterfully describe probabilistic fields and emergent structures, yet openly acknowledge explanatory limits concerning the origin, teleology, and qualitative texture of cosmic design. This presentation contends that the Vedic triad of subtle basic components—sattva (purity, harmony, knowledge), raja (action, passion), and tama (inertia, ignorance) three fundamental subtle energies or subtle building components that form the non-local, pre-quantum template for all creation, furnishes a complementary ontological framework operating at a level subtler than quanta. Drawing on two decades of systematic investigation by the Spiritual Science Research Foundation (SSRF), the study integrates advanced sixth-sense perception with objective instrumentation: Polycontrast Interference Photography (PIP), electrosomatographic scanning (DDFAO), and Universal Aura Scanner (UAS). Findings demonstrate that dynamic ratios of sattva, raja, and tama regulate individual psychology, collective behaviour, environmental stability, planetary equilibrium, and evolutionary directionality. Empirical correlations link rising global raja-tama dominance to intensified natural disasters, societal turbulence, and ecological collapse, revealing humanity’s spiritual quality as an active modulator of divine design within the material realm. Far from opposing scientific causality, this model articulates a hierarchical ontology wherein physical laws unfold within a subtler template instituted by the Creator. By synthesising rigorously documented extra-sensory epistemology with observable phenomena, the presentation advances constructive science–religion dialogue. It proposes a multi-layered cosmology in which human ethical and spiritual agency participates authentically in cosmic order. Conscious spiritual practice, by restoring sattva predominance, emerges as a practicable mechanism for individuals and societies to realign with divine design and mitigate existential crises at personal and planetary scales.
