Abstract
This study examines the challenges faced by professors in online education, aiming to expand the business side of educational programs, increase student enrollment, and promote the overall growth of educational institutions within the Canadian education system. The literature review suggested that online education is a permanent and scalable approach that can expand exponentially with effective pedagogical methods and quality assurance. Strategic leaders should encourage the adoption of technological tools, advanced infrastructure, and training for students and professors. The research employed a phenomenological methodology in qualitative research, involving discussions with professors across Canadian institutions to address the two research questions. Based on findings, the primary research suggested that online education should address significant issues for educational institutions by focusing on 1) data privacy, 2) infrastructure, 3) security, and 4) technology. Findings highlight the potential of a blended education system that combines the strengths of online and face-to-face learning, empowering both professors and students. Ultimately, this research contributes to the ongoing discussion of expanding online education in the Canadian education system, considering the needs and expectations of both students and professors, with a focus on business leaders.
