  I am working as an Assistant Professor in a state run University named Madurai Kamaraj University in Tamil Nadu, India for the past five years. I Teach Film and Television Production. Apart from teaching i have been involved in film production and research. My research interests lies in Community Media, especialy Community Radio Stations that strive for rural and woman empowerment. I have done field studies on various Community Radio Stations run by Educational Institutions and NGOs. I was part of the team which conducted Oral History research on the Eastern Himalayan Region. We have documented the lives of the people living in the himalayan region. As part of the project we have done Oral History Documentaries on various themes like Water, Tea, Space, Border, Cardamom. I have participated and presented research papers on various topics related to media and communicartion. But this is the first time i am planning to participate in a conference abroad.
