Digital Portfolios as a Transformative Tool for Student Assessment

One innovative assessment approach gaining traction in Philippine education is the use of digital portfolios, where students compile their work through online platforms to demonstrate learning progress, creativity, and critical thinking. Unlike traditional tests that focus on rote memorization, digital portfolios allow for continuous, authentic assessment that values process over product. As a future educational leader, I believe this approach promotes reflective learning and digital literacy, skills essential for 21st-century learners. However, its effectiveness depends on equitable access to technology and teacher readiness to design meaningful, standards-based digital assessments that truly capture student growth and potential.
