Abstract

This research article examines how diaspora populations influence global environmental law in today’s post-truth era. It studies sustainable development projects among African, Indian, and Israeli diaspora groups through a detailed analysis of three case studies. The African diaspora focuses on climate justice and sustainable development, using transnational networks to shape global policy. The Indian diaspora is vital in advancing clean energy, fostering innovation, and sharing knowledge in renewable technology. Simultaneously, the Israeli diaspora leads to developing new water management strategies and shares its expertise globally to address water scarcity. The thematic analysis shows common themes of transparency, environmental awareness, technical innovation, and cross-border collaboration. It also highlights how post-truth narratives and misinformation challenge diaspora advocacy and their impact on policy. The article places diaspora efforts within transnational legal frameworks that connect global standards with local actions. While it relies on secondary sources, it identifies areas for future research, like interviews and fieldwork, to enhance understanding. The results underscore the strong influence of diaspora involvement in environmental governance. They demonstrate that diverse communities can contribute to a sustainable future, despite the challenges posed by the era of misinformation.
