HR 5.0
Abstract
HR 5.0 marks a colossal transition in human resources (HR) management whereby human-centric innovation and the adoption of modern technologies would improve employee experiences and operational efficiency. The research elucidates how augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and extended reality (XR) can transform HR practices under the auspices of HR 5.0. The research study involved secondary data analysis from academic journals and cases published between 2000 and 2025 on how these immersive technologies are transforming talent acquisition, employee training, performance management, and workplace engagement. To synthesize the secondary data, a systematic review approach is utilized, clustering the themes identified in the literature. Additionally, a meta-analysis is conducted where applicable. It discusses how AR/VR/XR can create a personalized learning environment, incorporate real-world scenario simulations for skill development, and encourage collaboration in hybrid work settings. Furthermore, it faced a challenge in implementing the technologies—among them costs, accessibility, and employee adaptability—in ways that can be integrated into execution plans. It highlights the relevant aspects of AR/VR/XR toward aligning HR practices with HR 5.0 values and the various avenues for achieving organizational agility, employee satisfaction, and sustainable growth in an age characterized by digitalization.
