Abstract

This study’s main objective was to determine the effects of psychological well-being during the COVID-19 pandemic on students’ self-discipline in the online mode of learning (face-to-screen) and its impact on academic performance. The sudden shift to online modalities brought by the COVID-19 pandemic introduced new challenges for students’ self-discipline and motivation in the learning environment. This study used descriptive-correlational design and regression analysis to investigate how psychological well-being affects students’ academic performance and discipline during online learning. The study’s respondents were college students from one State University in Malolos, Bulacan enrolled during the academic year 2021-2022. The PWB is a 42-item questionnaire including six dimensions; Autonomy, Environmental Mastery, Personal Growth, Positive Relations with others, Purpose of Life, and Self-9acceptance. The effects of Students’ psychological well-being on their academic performance reveals that the f-value is equal to 1.067 and the p-value was .036, which is lower than the alpha value of .05. This indicates that psychological well-being has significant effects on academic performance when considering the jointed impact of all the variables of psychological well-being.
