Abstract

This study creates an economic model to help museums work with local entertainment companies. The research focuses on how museums can add their cultural programs to entertainment services while protecting traditions and increasing income. The study looked at ten entertainment companies working with the Museo del Carnaval de Barranquilla, Colombia, from 2019 to 2023. The research team used statistics and financial analysis to track changes in museum visits, income, and program development. Results show entertainment companies saw their income grow up to 15.3% through museum partnerships. The museum’s visitor numbers went up 74% in twelve months. The study includes ways to measure both financial returns and innovation in cultural programs. For example, one company earned 2.44 pesos for each peso spent while scoring 9.5 out of 10 on cultural authenticity measures. The research offers clear steps for museums to build successful entertainment partnerships. These steps help museums increase tourism, keep cultural traditions strong, and create better visitor experiences. Museum leaders and cultural policy makers can use this information to make decisions about entertainment partnerships and program development.
