Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of constructive journalism on the level of audience engagement with public issues in Kyrgyzstan. The study covered key aspects of audience feedback and audience interaction with materials produced in the genre of constructive journalism. Metrics such as the number of likes, reposts, views, and comments were studied to determine the level of audience engagement and approval. The research methodology involved collecting data on consumer popularity and engagement with content that met the parameters of constructive journalism, analyzing statistical data and audience reactions. The results of the study showed that materials made in the genre of constructive journalism generate higher levels of audience approval and engagement. Based on the analysis of audience engagement across various media outlets in Kyrgyzstan, the following conclusion can be made: 24.kg’s online publications, focusing on constructive journalism, achieved the highest engagement rates, with an average approval rate of 5.8%, an engagement rate of 6.67%, and a popularity level of 0.09% across its website and social media platforms. In comparison, Azattyk Radio, despite its broader social media presence, exhibited a lower approval rate (1.05%) and engagement rate (1.36%), indicating a significant difference in audience interaction levels. Recommendations include the need to adapt the content of constructive journalism to the context of the situation and audience characteristics, focus on overcoming the passivity of content consumers, continuously monitor engagement metrics and analyze feedback from audiences to adapt content to their preferences.
