Abstract

This study examined the impact of professional certifications and company support on career advancement among professionals in Saudi Arabia. The need for this study arose from the growing importance of professional certifications in enhancing individual performance, fostering personal growth, and achieving career advancement. The primary purpose of the study was to explore how these certifications, along with company support, influence career growth and professional development. A web-based quantitative data analysis tool was used to design and distribute the questionnaire online. A total of 419 responses were collected, targeting professionals from various industries across Saudi Arabia. The findings revealed that a significant majority of professionals are aware of and motivated to pursue certifications, primarily for career advancement and personal development. However, the impact of these certifications on career growth, particularly in terms of salary increases, varies widely, with many professionals reporting moderate to significant benefits. Company support, in the form of financial assistance and flexible work arrangements, is inconsistent, with more experienced professionals receiving greater support. The study concludes that although professional certifications are highly valued and contribute positively to career progression, their effectiveness is influenced by the level of company support and the individual’s career stage, highlighting the need for more standardized support policies and a more integrated approach to professional development.
