Abstract

The emergence of initiatives to integrate peace movements into everyday life highlight the need to establish a culture of peace. Accordingly, the United Nations proclaimed eight action areas in 1999 and 2015 and adopted seventeen Sustainable Development Goals for 2030. This paper addresses humanity’s societal challenges through clay art, exploring methods for promoting a culture of peace and sustaining world peace. Due to its unique characteristics, clay serves as a material for artworks, promoting health, well-being, and mental health. Clay is also an educational material fostering creativity, emotional and social development, concentration, self-esteem, and confidence, aiding physical, intellectual, sensory, and cognitive development. From 2012 to 2017, the author organized six international ceramic exhibitions devoted to world communication with clay art. Subsequently, from 2020 to 2024, the author organized five online international ceramic exhibitions for global communication through clay art. This paper proposes ceramic art projects for a culture of peace, aiming specifically to foster partnerships, gender equality, reduced inequality, and good health and well-being. Further, it analyzes the significance of ceramic exhibitions and projects, concluding that clay can serve as an infinite tool for peace on Earth.
