Dear Students,

You are invited to participate in a research study exploring how students engage with feedback from AI writing tools such as ChatGPT, Grammarly, or QuillBot. The goal of this study is to better understand how students use these tools, reflect on the feedback they receive, and make decisions about what to apply in their writing.

The online survey takes approximately 10–12 minutes to complete.

At the end of the survey, you may also choose to opt in to an optional 1-hour workshop/interview session. These sessions provide an opportunity to review your survey responses, complete a short task with AI-generated feedback, and share your reflections in greater depth. This part is completely voluntary.

You are eligible to participate if you are an undergraduate or graduate student at UIUC who has used an AI writing tool to support your academic work.

Your survey responses will be anonymous. If you opt into a workshop, email addresses will be used only for scheduling and deleted after the session. All data will remain confidential and used only for research purposes.
