Enriching the Educational Environment Through Textile-Printed Hangings
Abstract
This article highlights the vital role of textile printing design in enhancing educational environments. It addresses the increasing demand for innovative and culturally enriching designs in educational buildings. The central challenge lies in creating textile-printed hangings that elevate educational spaces by integrating ancient Egyptian and Japanese art symbols while maintaining their distinct aesthetic identities. This study examines the plastic values of these symbols and their use in textile-printed hangings that serve both as instruments of cultural education and as embodiments of the artistic and philosophical principles of ancient Egypt and Japan. A comprehensive collection of designs—comprising five conceptual ideas and twelve corresponding design formulations—was developed and implemented in educational settings. This design set effectively connects the artistic symbols of both civilizations, resulting in creative solutions that bring distinctive cultural value to learning environments. A survey was conducted to assess the impact of these hanging designs on students in these spaces. The findings indicate that textile-printed hangings offer significant visual enrichment and promote cultural awareness in educational environments.
