Exploring Student Perspectives on Effective Visual Materials, ...
Abstract
This study examines students’ perspectives on effective visual materials, the challenges encountered in their use, and the strategies employed to address these issues. The research aims to identify the most impactful visual aids, understand common obstacles, and explore coping mechanisms. A mixed-method design was used, combining survey questionnaires and interviews, with data analyzed through statistical and qualitative methods. Findings highlight that blackboard writing, television programs, PowerPoint presentations, posters, and self-learning modules are the most effective visual aids for learning. These tools significantly enhance learning experiences but present challenges such as time constraints, distractions, and power interruptions. Students address these difficulties by seeking teacher support, utilizing online resources, and engaging in independent study. The study underscores the enduring relevance of traditional methods like blackboard writing while advocating for the integration of diverse visual aids to enrich English language learning. Mitigating challenges through targeted strategies is vital to optimizing their use. Future research could explore teacher-driven approaches to complement student efforts and enhance the effective implementation of visual aids in education.
