Visualizing Bodo Folklore
Abstract
This article aims to establish a cultural visual identity by exploring and highlighting key cultural elements from Bodo folk stories, with a particular focus on traditional practices. The primary objective is to visually represent, preserve, and share Bodo folklore through contemporary visual mediums, ensuring that the cultural practices and traditions it embodies are maintained with integrity. The research methodology includes field visits, stakeholder interactions, photography, and a literature review to create culturally resonant illustrations. These visuals are then validated by community experts to ensure accuracy and alignment with cultural beliefs and traditions. The study successfully creates a distinct cultural visual identity for Bodo culture, utilizing contemporary visual techniques to ensure the resulting illustrations and visual elements are both culturally authentic and resonate with the Bodo community. The practical implications of this work provide valuable reference material for filmmakers, artists, educators, and other content creators involved in projects related to Bodo culture. Ultimately, this research plays a vital role in shaping cultural identity through modern visual mediums, preserving cultural heritage while ensuring it remains accessible and meaningful to contemporary audiences.
