Teacher Evaluation Using Classroom Observations and Student Feedback

Strengths:

Provides direct insights into teaching practices and classroom dynamics.

Combines subjective and objective data, capturing instructional quality and learner engagement.

Encourages professional growth through constructive feedback.

Weaknesses:

Subject to evaluator bias if not standardized.

Time-consuming and resource-intensive.

Student feedback might be influenced by non-teaching factors (e.g., personality, grading strictness).

May cause anxiety or resistance among educators if not framed positively (Ifeoma, 2023; QAHE, 2025).

Proposed Outline for an Educational Evaluation:

Purpose: Assess the impact of blended learning on student engagement and achievement in high school science.

Methods:

Pre- and post-intervention tests for academic achievement.

Regular formative assessments through quizzes and assignments.

Student surveys and focus groups for engagement and satisfaction.

Teacher self-reflections and peer observations.

Data Analysis: Statistical comparison of achievement scores; thematic analysis of qualitative data.

Expected Outcomes: Identify effective blended learning strategies; challenges to implementation; recommendations for improvement.

Ethical Considerations: Voluntary participation, anonymity, and data protection.
