The application of quantitative psychology in educational psychology relies on the measurement of psychological-related variables with statistical analysis and practice of scientific methods. In the educational setting, the application of quantitative psychology can be seen as standardized testing for academic placement. A standardized test refers to the type of exam where students get the chance to answer the same set of questions; it aims to assess and compare the level of intelligence and skills of the students on various subjects. Although standardized, teachers are still using various methods to collect the data from their students and assess them if they passed on the cutoff score.

Since quantitative psychology assesses the data in statistical manner, the limitations in this aspect refers to the cultural and language bias, test anxiety, limited scope of measurement, and ethical considerations. In this case, administrators must be mindful of giving the items, analysis, and assessing the results of the data gathered from the students.

However, quantitative psychology measures the exact data gathered from the respondents and accurately returns them with results. Scoring an efficient and balanced approach on giving exams is appropriate for maintaining the ethical considerations of the whole assessment.
