THE ART OF LEARNING THROUGH SOCRATIC DIALOGUE

The Socratic dialogue, named after the ancient Greek philosopher Socrates, is a timeless method of learning that centers on asking and answering questions to stimulate critical thinking. Rather than providing direct answers, Socrates encouraged his students to explore ideas through reasoning and self-reflection. This method transforms learning into a shared journey of discovery, where knowledge is built through thoughtful discussion rather than simple instruction.

In a Socratic dialogue, the teacher or facilitator acts as a guide, posing probing questions that challenge assumptions and encourage deeper understanding.
