Collaborative Intelligence: Peer-to-Peer Learning
Collaborative intelligence is the intelligence which is developed or created by social interation. Unlike Individual intelligence where it is limited to an individual's contained knowledge and not discussed or shared with others. It is based on the idea that when people work together, share knowledge, make use of digital tools, they produce better ideas and solutions.
Currently it is 21st century and the world needs teamwork, communication, collaboration, creativity to achieve a desired goal and finding solutions to the problem. Collaborative intelligence connects to digital tools like online learning platforms, wikis, online discussion. It aslo helps people to collaborate their work from different places.
Collaborative intelligence includes- Peer-to-Peer Learning:
It is a learning approach where individual's learn from one another, acquire knowledge, share ideas, form solutions just by interacting and discussing. Here, every participant plays both the role of a teacher and a student. It is the reciprocal process of sharing knowledge.
- It allows individual's to combine their idea and form a better idea.
- It fosters critical thinking, problem solving, creativity.
- The diversed point of views enriches the learning experiences of the individuals.
- It encourages the students to get engaged with their team work.
- Also, it fosters the communication process.
Example: Coursera
Coursera is a relevant example for Peer-to-Peer Learning. In this platform, students respond to each other's update, discuss to clarify doubts, exchange ideas, give feedback to each other.On, doing this they encourage each others ideas and also reflects on their learning.
