Learning, Knowledge and Human Development MOOC’s Updates

Option 2

An example of a learning experience that exercises "the social mind" is a collaborative problem-solving in a classroom or student to student setting.  For instance, when students collaborate on a science project, individual persons contribute own different ideas, view points, questions, and skills. This expands the learning beyond what an individual mind can accomplish because the group produces insights that no single member might have reached. This is an example of collective and a collaborative intelligence, where collaboration persists for deeper understanding and innovative solutions.

The process of collaborative learning promotes critical thinking, communication, and teamwork, while the benefit is that students not only gain knowledge but also learn how to function effectively within a community of learners.
