Project Update Week 4-Writing Reflection

My initial impressions of utilizing the AI tools for writing were apprehensive. I'm 42 years old, came from the era of Microsoft Works, taking your thesis to an in person writing lab for help from a grad assistant, citing references by hand and praying you got it right! Maybe I'm approaching that age where I'm 'set in my ways,' and struggle with change. Nonetheless, the more I used the writing tool, the more I began to appreciate its strengths and ability to evaluate my writing. Initially, I was taken aback and even began to feel somewhat 'overridden' by it's abilities. Occasionally thinking, 'Well this could do better than anything I can do, whats the point?'

However, I appreciated its ability to take much of what I stated informally and change it to a more scholarly tone. In my everyday communication, I don't usually use a scholarly tone. This tool was outstanding for assisting me with this task, so I didn't have to hurt my brain, pull out a thesaurus, etc. doing so myself. I liked being able to input my statements and even began reviewing my own writing and thinking, "How can I make this sound better?" Ultimately, Cyberhelper is an amazing tool and I believe it will be extremely beneficial for students! Glad I could use it!
