Catching Up Together: Reflections on DepEd’s ARAL Program
The Department of Education’s ARAL Program (Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning) is designed to help students recover from learning losses, especially in reading, math, and science. It combines teacher-led support, volunteer tutoring, and community partnerships to bridge learning gaps caused by the pandemic.
As a teacher, I believe the ARAL Program is a timely response to the challenges our students continue to face. Many learners are still struggling with basic skills, and this program provides a structured way to catch up. I value its collaborative approach, involving parents, volunteers, and local communities.
The challenge now lies in ensuring consistent implementation and resources so that all learners benefit equally. With proper support, ARAL has the potential to not only address academic gaps but also restore confidence and resilience among students.

As a special education teacher, I am an advocate of intensive Intervention. This can be solidified when families will also be active in instruction, other than what is provided in the school-setting.
