Reflexivity in Reflective Journaling
One curriculum practice that strongly reflects reflexivity is the use of reflective journals in both classroom and internship settings. In this practice, students write about their experiences, analyze their actions, and connect theory with practice. The dynamics of learning here involve pausing, looking back at what has been done, and questioning assumptions — which deepens self-awareness and critical thinking. For example, during teaching internships, reflective journals help future teachers evaluate what worked in a lesson and what needs improvement. This process is transformative because it shifts learning from memorizing content to actively constructing meaning from experience, enabling continuous growth.
